After spending many weekends simply by browsing net or sleeping, my friend and I decided to go outside to enjoy the beauty of Pune in monsoon. The date was saturday, June 11, 2011. After a lull, the monsoon revived back that friday and it was raining continously on friday and even continued on that saturday afternoon it continued in form of drizzles. Initially we planned to roam around in morning in bangalore-pune highway and go to Pashan lake which is quite near from where we are staying. But then, when we started it was 3.00PM and by that time we decided we should go to Singhad Fort.
After checking the route on google maps, my friend started his red pulsar and we proceeded through Baner, Pashan towards Warje. It was so beautiful at that time with clouds all around. I always wanted to roam around in that area and it was so nice. After asking an auto man the way to singhad ,we took a right in Warje Malwadi and proceeded towards Kadakwasla dam.

The dam is near to city and seemed like a favourite place to spend time for punekars as verified by the number of people, bikes and cars parked at the road side. We stopped the bike, enjoyed the place for some time and took a few pics offcourse.
After spending around 15mins at the dam side, we proceeded towards the fort. The road was a bit bad and even though not heavy, the rain was falling continously. We crossed some villages (names of which i dont know) and came pretty close to the hill side. Suddenly my friend reminded of the petrol level which was about to fall to red category. It was decided that we will continue for an another ten minutes and will return back. :( Fortunately there was one HP petrol pump and the tank was given its small meal for 200/-. Again we started towards the fort and after giving an entrance fee of 10 rupees ,our bike proceeded on the hills.
The fort was around 7Km from the entrance and the experience was very good. We came at the best of times to this place. Lot of pics were taken on the way, and we finally reached the fort amidst clouds.
While we were walking on the steps, it started pouring heavily and we took shelter in a hotel there. It was so tempting to have a hot tea at that time and we had it with onion pakoda. After the rain is over, we continued the walk .
It was soooo good and beautiful. After spending a very good time in the fort and after taking lot of pics we started back to pune and reached our place at around 8PM.
Place : Singhad Fort.
Best Time to Visit : Monsoon season from June till September
